From Mill to Masterpiece: The Secret to Our Tunic Quality
When you slip into one of our Cinnamon Closet tunics, we want it to feel just right. The softness. The perfect fit. The way it falls and moves. But behind that effortless comfort is a whole world of behind-the-scenes effort that we obsess over—because quality is never an accident. It’s built, tested, trimmed, and pressed into every thread.
Here’s how it all comes together.
1. Sourcing That Starts With Trust
We don’t just pick fabric off the shelf. Our fabrics are sourced from all over India, with a strong preference for buying directly from mills. Why mills? Because we get full visibility into the fabric's chemical treatments and processing. That means no unpleasant surprises for you, and we can ensure the fabric is safe, durable, and ready for real life.

2. Lab-Level Fabric Testing
Every single fabric batch goes through two crucial tests:
-
Color Fastness Test: We wash the fabric to see if the color bleeds or fades. If it does? It’s out.
-
Shrinkage Test: We measure it before and after a wash. If there’s any major change, we send it for pre-shrinking washes. Your size should remain your size.
3. The Drape Test: One Sample to Rule Them All
Before anything goes into production, we make one trial tunic using that fabric. We observe how it falls, how it moves, how it fits. Only if the fabric behaves beautifully do we move forward.

4. Pattern-Making: The Invisible Hero
Here’s where a lot of the magic happens. We create a garment pattern—a 2D blueprint for your 3D tunic. If we’re making a brand-new design, we draft it digitally using industry software. Why? Because it’s precise. We can spot errors and fix them before a single inch of fabric is cut. And precision = better fit and less waste.

5. Cut With Confidence
Once the pattern is approved, it’s printed and laid over stacked layers of fabric. Then, using cutting machines, we slice through with exactitude—ensuring each piece is as perfect as the last.

6. Stitched to Perfection
The cut pieces go into stitching, handled by skilled tailors who are trained to bring out clean seams and consistent finishes. Each stitch matters.

7. Trimming, Checking & Tweaking
After stitching, every garment is checked in detail. Loose threads are trimmed. Edges are examined. If anything’s off, we fix it then and there.

8. Soft Wash & Iron Love
Some garments are washed with softeners to enhance feel and finish. Once dry, each tunic is ironed to perfection. No creases. No dullness. Just polish.

9. Final Quality Check & Packing
One last inspection, just to be sure. Then the tunics are neatly folded, packed, and made ready for you.

Every single step—from mill to mailer box—is done with one goal in mind: creating the highest quality tunic we possibly can. Because when it comes to your wardrobe, you deserve pieces that work as hard as you do, feel as soft as they look, and last far beyond a single season.
At Cinnamon Closet, quality isn’t a buzzword. It’s a process. A hundred little steps we take to get one perfect result.
And that’s the real secret behind your favorite tunic.
